Juniper has been successfully delivering training programmes to both young people and adults for over 30 years, and currently have 14 delivery locations across the Black Country, Leicestershire, Staffordshire, Shropshire and Derbyshire.
We pride ourselves in the delivery of our successful 16-18 Study Programme and Traineeship offer and being an approved provider for the delivery of apprenticeship training. We have achieved matrix accreditation and offer a 100% progression promise to our students to progress them into either Apprenticeships, Employment or Further Education.
All of our Juniper courses focus on supporting students / apprentices to achieve the skills, qualifications, knowledge and experience they need to progress in their chosen career.
Our 16-18 Vocational Pathways / Study Programme, 19-24 Employability and 16-24 Traineeship courses enable students to have access to a real life, quality work experience placement working with a real employer; at the same time as accessing tutor-led provision in one of our modern training centres. The aim is for all students to develop the required skillset, achieve relevant qualifications (including English and maths GCSE re-sits where necessary) and importantly the experience employers are looking for in their workforce. These pathways support students to progress onto an apprenticeship, into employment or further education. Juniper supports over 2000 students per year and offer a 100% progression promise to all students.
We have suitable pathways available for all students – regardless of academic ability. Whether this is via one of our courses described above or securing one of our apprenticeship vacancies. Juniper works in partnership with over 1000 employers such as Virgin, Accord Housing, Assa Abbloy, Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council, Greenhous and Swish Building Products and are a credible alternative to school or college.
All of Junipers (16-18) courses are compliant with the Governments Raising the Participating Age (RPA). Claimants can continue to claim state benefits whilst they or their son / daughter is accessing a full time Juniper programme (excluding apprenticeships) and students may also be eligible for bursary support towards the cost of travel and lunches. Childcare support is also available to those who are young parents / carers.
We have long standing relationships with numerous employers spanning many occupational sectors. We invite small, medium and large employers to be involved in the design of our courses, so that they meet employer needs, both now and in the future. Our courses provide students with the skills and qualifications to succeed in the world of work.
We work very closely with our employers, and they offer support with:
Talks and presentations to students
Visits and tours of real workplaces
Mock interview sessions, so students get a real employer interview
Work experience, so that students get to see and have a go at the job they are interested in, whilst being guided by expert staff
Progressions to apprenticeships or jobs with training
We understand that having a student on work experience requires an investment of employer time and support so that both the student and employer gets the most from the experience. These young people are the future of our workforce and it’s important that they get to see the workplace first hand, whilst being supported by enthusiastic supervisors.
To ensure that both our employers and students get the most from the work experience placement, our Progression Coordinators are always on hand to provide ongoing support. This includes telephone contact, visits, progress reviews and discussions around progression.
We also offer employers a recruitment solution service, to support them in filling hard to fill vacancies. Our Employer Engagement Team, based at head office, would be delighted to discuss this further with you. Alternatively, you can contact the Progression Coordinator at your local centre.
