At Ashcroft School we provide special education for children and young people aged 8 to 18 years who have struggled to cope in other settings because of their individual barriers to learning. Every day our students build their self-esteem, learn new skills, and move towards a happy and fulfilled future. Many of our students enjoy music classes, and we have been fortunate enough to have received some funding to invest in some brand-new music technology equipment. We are looking for a volunteer who can help us to make best use of our new kit - if you have skills and knowledge in this area we think we can offer you a really fun opportunity!

The exact activities can be flexible to suit the skills and interests of the volunteer but would include some, or all, of the following:

- installing our music technology software, including Ableton Live, Traktor S4, & Cubase

- operating and maintaining our music technology hardware including music sequencers, DJ hardware, and sound mixing boards

- advising our music teaching lead on how best to operate the equipment

- coming up with ideas for how to use the equipment for students' projects.

- supporting the students in class with using the equipment (this is entirely optional).

We think this is a great role for somebody interested in music technology, and can offer experience in using and advising on music tech, a chance to experiment with brand new equipment, skills development in supporting student learning (if involved in classes) and the opportunity to put your knowledge of music technology to great use!
