Jack Ross Chartered Accountants are looking to recruit a friendly and proactive person to join their ambitious and hardworking team. This individual will be working as part of the team, processing VAT returns, bookkeeping and preparing accounts.



You will gain exposure to various responsibilities within VAT, accounts, personal tax and payroll.

Duties may include:

Preparation of VAT returns
Preparation of accounts for sole traders and limited companies
Preparation of simple taxation computations
Preparation of personal tax computations
Contact with clients by phone and email
Extensive use of Xero and Excel, and checking of financial records for accuracy, ensuring activities are carried out in accordance with agreed procedures

Person Requirements

  • The successful candidate must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Maths at Grade 6 or B
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Hardworking
  • Motivated
  • Organised


There may be the opportunity for the successful candidate to progress with the business and complete further accountancy qualifications.


Training Provided:

  • Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard (Level 3)
  • Level 2 Functional Skill in English
  • Level 2 Functional Skill in Maths
