Care & Support Workers

Part-time or Full-time

Across Stockport

£9.00-11.00 per hour

We have multiple opportunities across the borough of Stockport for people who care.  There are no qualifications required or a minimum level of experience.  You will receive full training, industry recognised qualifications and a structured pathway to progress your career.  You’ll be joining a supportive, hands-on team of like-minded people who want to make a difference in our community by caring for others.

What you will need is: -

  • A friendly personality
  • A willingness to help and learn
  • A desire to go home every day happy in the knowledge that you made a difference to the lives of others

Perhaps you have worked in care before?  Perhaps you have raised a family, looked after a sick friend or cared for an older / younger relative with additional needs?  Perhaps you just long for a varied job where you feel like you are genuinely making a difference to people’s lives?

Whatever your background – whether you’re just starting out, returning to work after a gap or want to switch to a new sector - if you’re looking for something that’s more than just a job and would like to know more about the opportunities to start your career in the social care sector, we’d love to hear from you.

What does care involve?

Care work can mean:

  • Making sure people are taking their medication
  • Helping people get washed and dressed
  • Doing household jobs, like washing clothes and shopping
  • Making food or giving help with eating

It can also mean:

  • Being a friend
  • Listening to people
  • Making that perfect cup of tea
  • Helping them with the crossword
  • Understanding their individual needs and interests
  • Helping to organise or take someone to clubs, leisure or social activities
  • Being the person that brightens up someone’s day

The job will include home visiting and lone working once you have completed a full induction and training programme.

We can match you with roles on a full time or part time basis, for weekend work, school hours, bank/relief work or sleep-in shifts which fit your circumstances. Whilst a driving license and access to your own car are useful (and necessary for some roles), we also offer walking routes or roles in a fixed-location (such as a residential or extra care setting) that are accessible on public transport.

How to apply

We are operating numerous Recruitment Events (both face to face and virtually) over then upcoming weeks, where you can talk to people about specific roles or why a career in care appeals to you.

If you are unsure, please apply and chat to our team with no obligation – you’ll find a genuinely lovely group of people who feel rewarded in their career, have varied and interesting roles and plenty of stories to tell!
