, Stockport, support people currently living with a life-limiting or chronic illness and the events help bring the people who they support on a one to one basis, together. They are currently looking for volunteers to help with events as unfortunately due to the pandemic they have been unable to hold them in 2020.
Keira’s Kingdom hold three family events per year: Easter, Summer and Christmas
- To help out on the Arts and Crafts table at Keria’s Kingdom three events. General duties include: making drinks for guests at the events and serving food. Basic food and hygiene qualifications will be provided.
- You will be asked to help plan, organise and deliver children’s entertainment including: children’s story time and dancing to kids songs.
Location/s: Heaton Norris Pavillion for Easter and Summer events &
St Elisabeths Church Reddish for Christmas.
Start date: As soon as live events can restart.
No. of days required: 6 - 3 days per year for events and 3 meetings per year to plan events.
No. of hours per day: 6 hours in total. 2 hours at each event: Easter, Summer, Christmas
Plus 3 planning meetings – 3 times a year
Volunteers are asked to have a full adults and children DBS Check but Keira’s Kingdom can cover the costs for the right person.
Travel Expenses are paid to events and planning meetings. A meal is provided at planning meetings.
Special requirements: Applicants must have a keen interest in Arts and Crafts and Entertainment. They are looking for jolly and approachable people who feel capable to work with special educational needs children and adults and also disabled people in general.
Keira’s Kingdom are very keen on taking on volunteers that have any kind of disability, whether that be physical or mental as they strongly believe in equality and diversity.
Keira’s Kingdom will also provide qualifications for anyone needing them adhered to their volunteer role.
