In order to deliver the increased volume and complexity of work as a result of the Guinness 2023 Strategy we are growing our Finance Group to ensure we have the right capacity in reporting tax, financial control and financial planning and consequently have an exciting opportunity for a Payments Officer to join our team in Oldham, Greater Manchester on a 9 month Fixed Term Contract.
Overview of the Role
Reporting into the Payments Supervisor and working alongside a team of 9 Payments Officers you will contribute to the delivery of an excellent and efficient service within the finance teams’ operation by assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual accounting requirements and ensuring the timely completion of payments runs.
This is an exciting and varied role where you will assist with range of payments activities. This includes processing invoices for payment, completing payment requisitions for Bacs or cheques, handling Barclaycard returns plus Chaps and Direct Debit payments and taking ownership of supplier queries and dealing with invoices on hold.
You will also assist in the development of plans and timetables that allow timely information and processing delivery (daily, weekly, monthly as required), ensure that the finance sub-ledgers are accurately maintained and that relevant control accounts are reconciled and suggest improvements to payments processes and monitor any improvements or changes made.
To be considered for this role you must have:
Any experience of month end processes and/or experience of using Oracle Financials or equivalent finance system would also be advantageous but is not essential.
Qualifications
Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent
