Policy and Project Support Assistant to the Chief Executive

Contract type: Permanent; Full time, 37 hours week

Salary: Scale 4, £19,554- £21,166
 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Assistant role to the Chief Executive of Stockport Council

The postholder will be based within the Strategy and Design Service and, as part of a team, will be responsible for providing comprehensive personal support to the Chief Executive and supporting policy and project work emerging from the Chief Executive’s Office.
 

The role will provide confidential personal support and be a first point of contact for anyone wishing to see or speak to the Chief Executive including councillors, internal and external senior officers and members of the public.

We are looking for an excellent administrator with strong organisational and interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing a high standard of customer service.
 

You will have experience in supporting projects and communicating information effectively, with accuracy and attention to detail.
 

You will have the ability to build effective working relationships, possess excellent ICT skills and be able to meet deadlines.

Some of the key activities this role will undertake include:
 

·         Comprehensive and confidential personal support to the Chief Executive, including;
 

o   Acting as the first point of contact for anyone wishing to see or speak to the Chief Executive.

o   Managing calendars and meetings including organising, attending and minuting meetings.

o   Anticipating and addressing the needs of the Chief Executive.
 

·         Policy and project support to the Chief Executive’s Office, including;
 

o   Provision of research and information.

o   Undertaking specific tasks and activities to meet clear objectives.

o   Acknowledging, directing and ensuring a response to complaints.

o   Direct support to Corporate Leadership Team meetings including requesting and collating papers and distributing agendas.
