Coaching Academy 

Our coaching academy is a vehicle for developing a coaching culture throughout the Trust to help develop, engage, motivate and care for our staff to deliver better patient care. It will support us to consistently have a “culture of caring” which both our staff and patients will experience.

Materials Management Assistant
Band 3
PART TIME : 30 hours per week – 8.30am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday (inc 30 minute lunch break)


Based at Stepping Hill Hospital, the opportunity has arisen, within the busy Procurement Department at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust for a Part Time Materials Management Assistant, 30 hours per week. The successful candidate will be providing a Materials Management service to wards, theatres and other clinical areas at Stepping Hill Hospital and Community Sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the prompt and accurate electronic replenishment and physical put away of stocks, ensuring the processing and expediting of requisitions and electronic data capture orders in accordance with user requirements and appropriate Procurement procedures.

70% of the main duties and responsibilities of this role will be the manual and physical activity of checking and put away products, which involves the moving and handling the products out in the wards and departments, and dealing with returns where appropriate. Physical effort also includes standing for long periods of time, walking across the whole Trust site, and working within small storeroom areas.

We aim to deliver a first class service and you will need the following skills to add value to the team:

? Ability to communicate effectively with staff from all levels
? Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
? Identifying customers needs
? Collate, input and analyse a wide variety of data
? Good IT skills, using Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook etc.
? Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills
? Good attention to detail and a methodical approach

Experience of working in a busy procurement/supply chain environment is essential.

A friendly and sociable outlook is essential with the ability to work flexibly in order to meet deadlines. The post requires a professional, motivated and enthusiastic approach to the role, and a ‘can do’ attitude is essential.

Training will be provided on all aspects of the job where required.
