Support Worker

Salary: £18,579 - £19,977 per annum + benefits + overtime available

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Type: Permanent

The roles will work in our state of the art 4 bedroom children's and young adults’ homes (age range 4-25 years old) at our single site in Cheadle Hulme, near Manchester airport. (No travel required)

We’re looking for somebody who would love to spend the day with our young adults who need us to support them with a range of different things that they might find difficult. This could include support with day to day tasks or helping them to communicate.  If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you about joining our team of amazing Seashell heroes!

The details:

  • You’ll work a rolling rota with shifts over 7 days (every other weekend, but no nights)
  • If you’re not qualified, we’ll support you to achieve the QCF Level 4 diploma qualification in Children’s & Young People Workforce
  • These active roles will involve providing daily care and support for our young people including personal care needs, mobility, daily routine support, communication, independent living skills, learning and leisure activities
  • Challenging behaviours will present in these roles so to fully support our young adults, candidates should be comfortable working in this type of environment (full training is provided)
  • The hours are 37.5 hours per week, with enhanced weekend rates of pay
  • You’ll get up to 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) rising to 38 days with length of service
  • These are full time permanent roles with good career development opportunities

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a care setting supporting children/people with complex learning disabilities and communication, behavioural and sensory impairments or in a mental health setting is preferred but not essential. We can also consider life experience.
  • GCSE English and Maths (grade A-C) or level 2 literacy and numeracy qualification is a requirement for these positions.
