Not sure what comes next after GCSEs? Leaving college and unsure of the right path to take? Join our Expert Q&A for Post-16 Careers Week and put your questions to our guest panel. Hear from the professionals in business, education and employment as we’ll be joined by those in-the-know from local colleges, universities, training providers and companies.
It’s really important to get talking about your options for when you leave secondary school, sixth form, college or finish an apprenticeship. Whether you’re considering further study, employment, self-employment, training or a combination of all these things, we can help you understand what’s on offer locally and where this could lead you in the future.
Our Evening Zoom sessions at 8:00pm on Tuesday 12th and Thursday 14th October are designed for students, parents and carers, teachers and advisors who want to know more about the careers and pathways available for young people. They’re being hosted by Stockport Council and Stockport Jobs Match as part of Post-16 Careers Week.
Each session will include:
This is your opportunity to get answers to the questions you really want to know about! For example, you may be interested to ask…
You can ask your questions on the night by raising your hand or writing in the chat box. We’ll try to get through as many as we can, but if we don’t get round to your question we’ll be putting an FAQs section online after the event.
To make sure you get the info you need, why not send us your question in advance? You can drop us an email with your query and we’ll put these to our panellists at the start of the event.
To take part in our evening Expert Q&A, you’ll need to book a free ticket on Eventbrite to reserve your place (and to give us an idea on numbers!) This is a virtual event (so you can tune in from the comfort of your own home!) and a joining link will be sent to you in advance.

Thursday evening will mainly be geared towards 16-19 year olds (Years 12, 13 and beyond) who are considering their next steps after finishing college, sixth form, an apprenticeship or equivalent.
