About Manchester Airport Academy
The Manchester Airport Academy is an employment hub for the airport and our business partners and is run in partnership with Trafford College.
A one-stop shop for anyone interested in on-site vacancies, it provides free tailored training programmes to enable job-seekers to gain relevant skills and secure employment at the airport. The training programmes offer a unique opportunity to get onto the aviation industry employment ladder.
Attendees learn the basics and the terminology needed to succeed at the airport, boosting their confidence when applying for a role. They also have access to current vacancies and receive unique support in applying for roles following the programme, including CV and mock interview workshops.

Customer Service
The five-day free accredited training course will cover:
- Different types of customers, products and services within the Aviation industry
- How to meet customer needs and expectations to achieve customers satisfaction within the Aviation Industry
- Appearance and behaviour in the customer service role within an airport setting
- Legislation, regulations, and procedures relating to customer service that relates to the aviation industry
- Dealing with, and communicating customer problems with others
Hospitality & Catering
The two day free accredited training course will cover:
- Information on how to serve food and drinks in restaurants, bars and coffee shops within the Airport
- To develop confidence in keeping things clean and tidy and giving great customer service to all passengers
- To work in a kitchen – from storing food hygienically to cooking simple dishes ( Food Hygiene training on request)

Are you looking for free online courses for personal or professional development? We have access to a large suite of online courses to help you progress within your career or study something in the leisure industry. You can study at your own pace and all courses are free to anyone aged 19+ years who has lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years.
