Work Experience with Stockport NHS Foundation Trust in Hazel Grove

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust offer a fantastic work experience programme for 14-16 year olds in Stockport. This includes:

  • 5 day placement over half-term weeks
  • Ward-based placements (PEF allocation)
  • Induction and review sessions
  • PEF mid-week check ins

Priority is given to local Stockport schools and colleges, with guaranteed allocations but you must apply via your school or college directly. The programme criteria is:

  • Age criteria increased to 16+ for clinical onsite placements
  • 14+ years old for non-clinical placements (subject to appropriate supervision requirements)
  • 14+ years for online work experience programme/ Taster Days
  • Prioritisation of local residents and students in Stockport

NHS Insight Careers Day

The next NHS Insight Careers Day takes place in Spring 2024 in collaboration with The Prince’s Trust, NHS Pennine Care, North West Ambulance Service and NHS Health Education England. Last year’s event included:

14-16 Taster Morning 9.30am-12.30pm

  • 40 placement allocation (SNHSFT/PCT)
  • Priority to local schools/colleges
  • General careers information (NHS/Work experience/Volunteering)
  • Rotation of a variety of disciplines (clinical and non-clinical)
  • Alternative Pathways (Apprenticeships & Cadet Programme)
  • Sandwich Lunch

Community Session 1.00pm-4.00pm

  • Rotation of a variety of disciplines (clinical and non-clinical)
  • Workshops
  • Interview/Application Technique
  • Apprenticeships
  • Voluntary Service
